When I was a kid, I used to love drawing cartoons of girls wearing stylish clothes. I've always had an interest in fashion design. I plan to design a lot of cool clothes and sew them for myself. This blog is where I will post photos and articles about the clothes I make.

Green & Black Irish Dance Dress

Green & Black Irish Dance Dress

I finally finished choreographing my own Irish dance moves to 'Dance Above the Rainbow', a song I've wanted to choreograph and dance to for many years now. So I decided to make myself a dress to wear in the final video. I love how it turned out and will definitely be wearing it all the time, not just when I dance. I'm so proud of this dress! I designed it myself without a pattern... see photos

Leggings, Boot Toppers, and an Altered Sweater Skirt

I've been sewing like crazy these past couple weeks! Altering old clothes, making new stuff... it's so much fun! Here are a few of my latest creations: an old red sweater altered to become a skirt, leggings from a pattern, and striped boot toppers (previously leg warmers)... see photos

Light Green Shirt

Russ got me a really nice sewing machine for Christmas! So now I finally have the tools I need to create some awesome clothes to wear. For my very first sewing project I made this green shirt. It has like a million mistakes, but I like how it turned out. I wore it to church on Sunday... see photos

I love to come up with designs for Irish dance solo dresses now and then. Two of these were entered into dress design contests at feiseanna (won first place both times!) and the last one actually became a reality. My Mom used this pattern to create the applique for my very first solo dress... read article

Before & After Photos

Before & After Photos Of My Altered Irish Dance Dress

I finished altering my old Irish dance dress! I really love how it turned out. My goal was to create a dress that makes me look more like an adult than a kid. I wrote about my plan to alter this dress earlier this week. I'm no seamstress, so I kept the basic design intact, but I added some accessories, chopped off the fluff, bought a more basic petticoat underskirt, and changed the way the cape is attached... read article

Irish Dance Dress

Designing An Irish Dance Dress That Makes Me Look Like An Adult, Not A Kid

I've talked recently about just how ridiculous Irish dance costumes are and how much I hate wearing wigs. You can read the article I wrote about solo dresses and wigs in Diddlyi Magazine. As a follow up to that article, I'd hate to think I gave off the impression that I don't love to dress up. I love to wear lots of makeup and fix my hair fancy, wear stylish dresses... read article
